Nashville DogFest Walk n' Roll
The Event You Will PAWS-ITIVELY Not Want to Miss
DogFest Walk ‘n Roll Nashville
WHO/WHAT: Get ready for a tail waggin’ good time at the 3rd annual DogFest Walk 'n Roll Nashville, the signature national event of Canine Companions for Independence! Grab a leash and join us for lots of fun and family friendly activities as we raise money to provide highly trained assistance dogs for people with disabilities.
WHY: Imagine not being able to pick up a pencil that dropped, open a door, turn off a light switch or hear a fire alarm. These are the challenges that people with disabilities face every day. Now, put a Canine Companions assistance dog in the picture and everything changes. These highly trained dogs help children, adults and veterans live more independently, creating new opportunities and new possibilities. Canine Companions assistance dogs are provided free of charge, though costs exceed $50,000 to breed, raise, train, and provide ongoing support. Charitable contributions, grants, special events, and corporate support fund the substantial costs involved with this process
WHEN: Saturday, April 22, 2017; 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
WHERE: Lipscomb University, 1 University Park Drive, Nashville, TN 37204
WHO: All community members are invited to attend and there is no fee to participate. Participants do have the opportunity to register for the event in advance as an individual, or as part of a team, and create fundraising pages.
