Garden lovers of all ages will find the inspiration, advice, community, and plants they seek at the seventh annual, FREE, UT Master Gardeners of Davidson County Urban Gardening Festival on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Ellington Agricultural Center.
The Festival is a one-stop shop for gardening enthusiasts. Local and nationally known speakers offer advice on amending soil, building backyard green houses, reviving your roses, gardening to feed your family, recognizing disease in troubled trees, tackling pest control, and more. Nearly 100 exhibitors will be on site to teach about all aspects of gardening including chickens, beekeeping, and composting. Master Gardeners present how-to demonstrations on container gardening, mastering herbs and flowers, and more.
The Garden Center features affordable, quality herbs, perennials, pollinators, and vegetables, along with crafts, pottery, salves, compost, and more for sale. In the Chef Tent, learn how to make your own fermented spring vegetables, pesto with a twist, and your own herb jellies. The Children’s Tent hosts fun, hands-on activities while live music will be provided by Bill and Melanie Davis and Becky McCloud. Grab a snack or lunch from Bradley’s Creamery, The Rolling Feast, Hoss’ Loaded Burgers, Smokin’ Buttz, Love Fest Lemonade, Boomerangs Australian Coffee, and Moose Head Kettle Corn. The Festival runs from 9am – 4pm, rain or shine.
