Annual Yulefest at Historic Mansker Station
The annual Yulefest will be on the first Saturday in December on the grounds of Historic Mansker's Station.
Yulefest kicks off the holiday season with musicians, storytellers, and demonstrators in the cabins of the fort and in the historic home. Visitors can take their time listening to the sounds of yesteryear as they tour the sites and take in the beauty of simple, natural decorations, refreshments and unique shopping at the gift shop. This free event will take place on the first Saturday in December from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the Goodlettsville Visitor's Center and Historic Mansker's Station. Overflow parking will be available inside Moss-Wright Park.
The fort will come alive with music, storytelling, and demonstrations. In the large blockhouse, stomp your feet to a Yulefest favorite, the Big Auger String Band. The carpenter's cabin will hold Zoe Lyttle and the Stewart Brothers playing and singing traditional Christmas songs. Rebekah Winskie will perform on the fiddle in the small blockhouse, and Debbie Caldwell will be telling stories of Christmas past in the deluxe cabin. A new addition to this year's festivities includes Kathleen Tirpak in the dirt floor cabin conducting toy demonstrations.
At the Bowen House, crowd favorite Kell Coulter will be singing and displaying her skills on the harp and Connell Methodist Church Adult Handbell Choir will be ringing in the sounds of Christmas.
Historic Mansker's Station is located in Moss-Wright Park at 705 Caldwell Drive. Parking is available at the Visitor's Center and in the park. Yulefest is a free event and is for all ages.
