Family Program: Fam Jam

Family Program: Fam Jam

Dates:
Sat, 03/01/2025 - 9:30am to 10:30am

Museum visitors can sing, dance and play as a family at the museum the first Saturday of each month. Designed for families with children 5 years old and younger, Fam Jam is a participatory music-making experience, led by museum educators and a guest artist, that introduces young children to country music instruments and encourages child development through moving, singing and listening. This session will spotlight the mandolin and feature Anne Buckle, a songwriter and children’s author, a descendant of Country Music Hall of Fame members the Carter Family and an accomplished fiddle player who has shared the stage with Hall of Famer Charlie Daniels, toured with the rock band Augustana and opened concerts for the Chicks. Family music-making promotes language acquisition and the development of cognitive, social and motor skills.
