Session I: Feathered Friends 10-11:30 am
Learn about the characteristics, habitats, adaptations and migrations of birds.
Session II: Animals in Winter 1-2:30 pm
Observe cold weather adaptations of native plants and animals and compare cold weather strategies like hibernation and migration.

Session I: Food Webs 10-11:30 am
This program promotes the understanding of predators, the adaptations for catching prey and why predators help maintain the delicate balance of nature.
Session II: Reptile & Amphibian Discovery 1-2:30 pm
Learn the differences between reptiles and amphibians. Meet one of our amphibian ambassadors and hit the trail to look for spring frogs and salamanders!

Open to Ages 10+
Our 10+ program days are designed for older students and cover more advanced material. These programs may also include longer or more challenging hikes.
Session I: Outdoor Survival 10-11:30 am
Learn how to prepare for a trip into the woods. Practice building a survival shelter and go for a hike with a compass as your guide.
Session II: Butterflies 1-2:30 pm
An introduction to the life cycles of butterflies. Learn to identify common butterflies of Middle Tennessee and take an exploratory hike to find caterpillars and their parents.
General Information:
Cost is $10 per person (student or adult) per session. All-ages programs are designed for children ages 5+. Siblings 2 and under are free. Advance registration is required for all participants (students, adults and siblings 3 and over). All children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
No walk-ups.
Programs designated for ages 10+ are restricted to older students accompanied by an adult.
Limit 30 participants per session (this includes students, teachers, parents, and siblings).
Programs begin promptly at 10 am and 1:00 pm. Late arrivals may result in reduced programming.
Morning programs may be followed by lunch or a snack in our orchard picnic area at no additional charge. We are a carry-in/carry-out facility. Groups using the orchard picnic area must bring a trash bag to carry out your trash.
Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary is a protected green space in northwestern Williamson County, Tennessee. Usage is dedicated to a mission of education, conservation, restoration, research, and species protection.
