Shin's Martial Arts
At Shin's Martial Arts practice the traditional Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do. In Tae Kwon Do, all parts of the body are used, and the use of the lower body is emphasized. Strengthening of the lower body allows a practitioner to remain healthier and feeling younger as aging usually starts with a weaker lower half of the body. However, Tae Kwon Do is more than just physical practice. The body becomes a tool to help each individual develop mentally and spiritually.
Each belt color from white to black has a specific signification. They express the physical, mental, and spiritual growth of the martial artist who wears it. We do not just learn olympic sparring, we practice kicks, punches, sparring and forms. All are practiced regularly to help us grow physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Adults and children of all ages practice together, learning from each other. The Korean cultural aspect of Tae Kwon Do is very important as it emphasizes respect, and helps us build confidence, discipline, patience, and moral virtue.
