In his early adulthood, C.S. Lewis dismissed the story of Christ’s birth as a feel-good myth. That changed after a pivotal conversation with his close friend, J.R.R. Tolkien. Though both cherished mythology, Tolkien believed the story of Jesus was the one true myth. This encounter sparked Lewis’s journey from atheism to faith—and transformed Christmas forever for him. Set on Christmas Eve at his home near Oxford, Lewis welcomes a group of Americans to share in heartfelt and humorous holiday memories. What begins as a festive evening unfolds into a moving reflection on belief, tradition, and the meaning of Christmas.
